About The Event
Yoga nidra (also known as yogic sleep) is a powerful technique for controlling your body’s relaxation response. It can be as restorative as sleep, while remaining fully conscious yet in a sleep-like state. Our time together will start with deep breathing and systematic muscle relaxation to trigger the parasympathetic nervous system.
Yoga Nidra is one of the easiest yoga practices to develop, accessible for beginners to advanced yogis. There are no poses to perform, no touching of toes, no props, and no “wrong way” to do yoga nidra. While traditional meditations can sometimes be very specific, Yoga Nidra is about listening, and breathing – nothing more. Don’t worry about falling to sleep - your subconscious can still benefit from the practice even when your conscious mind has checked out.
